Ride Reports
Pizza Hut
With Jude and Dillan finishing their last GCSEs, we swapped the evening ride for a celebratory Pizza Hut in Plymouth. A quiet, good‑humoured social to toast the end of exams.

Skerraton Down
Fabulous evening sunshine and wide views over South Devon from Skerraton Down defined the ride. Gavin and Jude joined us, and we returned by the usual Cross Furzes route to be home before 9.15.

Hembury Woods
A mid-ride blowout reshaped the day, turning ambitions beyond Holne into an unhurried lunch at the tearooms. The return through Hembury Woods brought photos at Hembury Fort and a lively run down the slalom track, rounding off a shortened but cheerful outing.

Scotland 13
Heat-hazed days in the far north were stitched together by quick decisions and the odd stroke of kindness. A cloud lifted and they pressed on to the summit of Ben Nevis in cycling kit; days later they wound over the hairpins of the Bealach na Bà before a freezing, jubilant descent. Midges forced a walking lunch, a private launch whisked them across Loch Broom, and a glowing sunset at Achmelvich made every detour worthwhile.
Cancelled
This is a brief report: with most members away or busy, the planned evening ride was cancelled.
Cancelled
With most riders away on holiday or busy, the planned ride was cancelled — a rare pause in the schedule.
Badminton
With Michael resting his ankle, the planned evening ride was cancelled and replaced by a badminton social at the Ashmoor Centre in Ashburton—a low‑key change of pace that kept the club together off the bikes.
Computer Games, Endsleigh Cafe & Badminton
Michael’s ankle needed rest, so the planned ride became a social: games at Crofters and a café stop at Endsleigh, with spirits kept high off the bike.
Cancelled
With everyone away this evening the ride was cancelled.

Totnes
A leisurely, good-humoured ride to Totnes put friendship ahead of speed, highlighted by a seal surfacing at the weir – first doubted as a ‘seal dog’ then photographed to general delight. A birdless bird hide and a riverside tree-climb added to the day’s unhurried character.
Badminton
Heavy evening rain forced the cancellation of the planned ride, with a hoped-for newcomer deterred. Instead the group regrouped at Crofters for Minecraft, broke it up with a short badminton session at Ashmoor, then returned to Crofters to finish with more games.
Computer Games
Persistent rain kept us off the bikes, so we switched to a Minecraft social until mid-afternoon. The highlight was teaming up to defeat the wither and install a beam at our pit, speeding mining so we could drive the hole much deeper.
