Ride Reports
Games Evening
The report is very brief: the youngsters spent the evening playing various games on the PC network. No further details are given.

Totnes
A mid-ride text cut John’s day short, but not before a brisk detour to the Totnes Food Market for hot snacks, fortified by jam doughnuts from Morrisons. We then pressed home smartly via Plymouth Road and the back of Rattery to get him back in time.
Games evening
With Jude still ill and George not keen on the planned cycle workshop social, the evening turned into a low-key games night, with George and Dillan settling into their favourite computer games.
Holne
With drizzle and rising winds due late morning, we slipped in a brisk ride to Holne, rewarded by Leo the Scoriton dog unexpectedly waiting outside—costing Michael his informal bet—and a friendly pause at the community café, before a very blustery return via Hembury Woods.
Games Evening
With plans for badminton or squash abandoned as Paignton felt too far, the group turned it into an impromptu computer games evening instead.
Badminton
Strong winds and heavy showers shelved the ride, so we made a day of it indoors: badminton at Ivybridge Leisure Centre and café pizzas, bookended by games—Little Big Planet 3 early on, then Supreme Commander.
Pizza Hut
A relaxed club evening swapped pedals for pizza at the Plymouth Barbican, then on to Tenpin for lively Air Hockey when the pool tables were all taken, rounded off by a thrifty stop at Sainsbury’s for £1 Bakewell tarts.

Torcross
A long‑awaited push to Torcross at last, smooth outward miles before a cold headwind and climbs made the return a grind. Lunch centred on the Boathouse, reopened after its fire—burgers worth the wait—while Lawrence skimmed stones on the beach.
Plymouth Life Centre
A late-opening Costa at Marsh Mills set the tone for a relaxed evening before badminton at Plymouth Life Centre, whose vast hall made play a pleasure. The night was marked by Lawrence’s last outing before his five-week trip to London.

Holne
With illness, grey skies and a lunchtime deadline, we kept it to a short loop via Cross Furzes and Michelcombe. A surprise meeting with Leo in Scoriton and a welcome café stop at Holne for soups and toasties gave the ride its warmth before an easy return over Hembury Hill.
Games Evening
A straightforward, cheerful games night: the youngsters started with Disc Jam on the PlayStation 4, then moved on to PC games, and enjoyed every minute.

Liverton
What began as a 24‑mile loop to Haytor became a detour via Ilsington when Jude fell ill, sending us up a steep wooded climb and along seldom‑used lanes. Sue kindly kept the village shop open for coffee and cake, and John’s lengthy pause proved to be a Mother’s Day phone call, not failing legs.
