John and George joined us for our ride to Holne. Hayley had been planning to join us, as this was supposed to be a Family Ride, but Gavin told us at 10.40 that she wasn't coming after all, and then he had to move the child seat from Hayley's bike to his before we could leave.

We set off at 10.55 on a sunny but chilly morning at 6°C, riding up Silver Street, on to Scoriton and then up the steep hill to Holne. Harry very much enjoyed his trip, but Gavin had a rear puncture which needed pumping five times to get him to Holne. There was a hole in his tyre as well as the inner tube, so he rang Hayley and got her to collect a new tyre and tube and bring them up to us.

New chef Pippa was in residence today in the Holne Community cafe, but as she was new, the service was very slow. Neither Dillan nor George knew the teenager who was serving. Teenage lad serving who was not known to Dillan or George. I had coffee and coffee cake while Dillan had tuna sandwiches. When Hayley arrived, Gavin changed his tyre, then Harry went home in the car as he was tired.

We rode home via Hembury Woods, choosing not to ride the track today, and we got back at 2.10.
